every girl likes a different guy for different reasons.
in terms of looks, well, if you wnat to get in a serious relationship... then you should get a girl who really cares about personality, not attractiveness. If they care about your personality, they will often talk to you more before you actually go out, ask you questions, share feelings... etc. Girls do this cos they care about the inside. If they just go out with you, without having a covo, it's usally for attractiveness.
Normally, in a guy, girls look for: Humour, Honesty, Sweetness, Faithfulness.. more, but those are the main ones.
Be yourself, too and don't try to act cool and someone your NOT! Girls like REAL MEN! :)

A nice smile will catch my attention, intelligence, integrity, a gentle sense of humor, he should be kind, caring, and compassionate, confident in himself without being arrogant, willing to try new things and enjoy all life has to offer, a sense of his own style, a nice smile, have the usual compliment of body parts arranged in a easy-on-the-eyes fashion, a voice so warm you just melt when you hear it, a nice guy with a touch of naughtiness when the time is right...

Good women prefer men with integrity, purpose or in search of one, respect, understanding, empathy, desire, interest, honesty, humor, intelligence, a man who thinks...uses his mind in many ways, a man who appreciates life and relationships and takes some things in life seriously, confidence in himself and his beliefs, stubborness, self-respect, realness, comfort, love, attraction, awareness, attentiveness, expressiveness, a man who takes care of his appearance...teeth, hair, clothes, etc., patience, and experience with other women and relationships...so they will really know what they want in a woman.
Is that asking too much ?? Seems like a lot of things to want...

looks count, but they don't count for everything. a sense of humor is always good, but not the sick/perverted/twisted type. the alpha male role doesn't always fly, some girls prefer the geeky sincere type so get to know the girl first before you make any moves. also, listen to what the girl says, don't just pretend to. compliments help too.
