Before we do all these "nazi-inspired" experiments on people and helpless lab animals, I think we need to send those billions of dollars, and all those fine research physicians out into the world to see to providing clean water, safe food, vaccinations, and Malaria and TB cures to the millions of people who need them, and the thousands of children that starve every day.
Let's get a handle on people we have on earth right now, by doing some REAL health work outside the air-conditioned labs.

I don't believe we can know the full social issues until it is done, to a human that is, but as far as ethical concerns go people seem too be divided and feel very strongly about it. I think it can eventually be the answer to feeding the worlds population, but I don't believe that it should go farther than that. The human race at the moment, I don't believe, is advanced enough too handle the responsibility of the vast possibilities available with cloning. Best to leave reproduction to nature (or God if you wish) at the moment.
