Some are voluntary, ie we can smile or not smile according to our choice.

Some are involuntary, ie we squint when in contact with bright light

Depends on the situation.

I suppose you could call a smile a voluntary muscle reaction and a squint as an involuntary reaction to any bright light or dust blow up

Both, blinks and twitches of your eye for example are often involantary, but you can use muscles around your eye to wink if you wish, or to close your eyes.
