definetly ,java is worth growing language.
the true fact is that this programming world is now devided in two parts ,first Microsoft 's .NET & secondly
Sun's JAVA.
java is not just a language it is a completely a platform which is challenging the microsoft.
one of the best advantage of jave is that if u know core jave ,u can easily migrate towards the other fields ,such as jsp, whereas if u know vb then also u cann't learn ASP easily,b/z not much interconnection is there.
java is platform independent and also under in open source community & is widely used in intenet.
so comapnies are migrating towards java b/z it is cheaper(i mean
it produces high quality s/w product in minimum cost.)
so it's just starting of new era,
i think u have to blindly choose the java , & try to be master in java.

Are you asking about doing some courses in Java ? Java programmers are hired with good salaries, and if you are confident about your skills, dont hesitate , just move forward.
