HI there I live in Copperas Cove Texas, right by Ft Hood. From what I hear Killeen Texas has some of the best prices on homes, but still pricey(I think). Alot depends on your neighborhood. As for jobs, I do know alot of civilians have jobs on Post. Since this is a smaller town people travel to other towns not very far. Gas was at 2.19 and that was yesterday, and had been going up. If you move here be ready for some Hot summers

I've been stationed in El Paso for just over a year now. The cost of living isn't too bad, gas prices are a little higher than other places, home cost is very dependent on the area you are moving to, the job market here is really sad and pay sucks. Please realize that all this is relative to your area, education level and job placement skills. Good luck.

Funny you ask! I have a friend in Texas and I've been thinking of moving there as well. From what I hear, the summers are hot and gas is priced about the same. I don't know what the wages of pay are like but do know there isn't any income tax.

Any place is better than Jersey. I lived there for almost 6 years and I would rather live in Cuba than NJ again. Move to Texas.

All I have time to say is that it is not uncommon for Austin to have the most expensive gas in the state.
