I remember Logan's Run. A unique movie. I don't see a violation there.

Your nickname says that you know it all. Apparently, that's false advertising.
The answer is that someone chose to violate the question about women, and not the question about men. Perhaps the readers of the question about men weren't offended.
Perhaps the person who violated you is not familiar with Logan's Run. I have never seen it myself.
Anyway, if that is the movie plot, I would say that it was meant to be controversial, and of course, meant to enrage.
Apparently you hit someone's nerve. As to whether or not Yahoo is trying to impede free speech, I cannot say, however, you do have the option of e-mailing them back and requesting a review of your question and perhaps they will give you your points back.
Sometimes people just violate others for no good reason whatsoever. They are probably the same people who give a thumbs down to all answers even if they are right on the money.

First of all, it depends if the question was reported or not. If no-one reported the question, then yahoo won't remove it.
If you got a violation for the woman's question, but not for the man's, then it obviously was found to be more offensive for some reason, maybe because of how it was worded or because of the fact that you are a man asking the question and it was perceived as a dig at women and trying to get a rise out of them rather than a genuine or sensible question.
HTH : )

Its not Yahoo, its malicious users who have the power to deduct points from people they do not agree with
incidentally, can I please ask EVERYONE to complain about Violations when they are not warranted.?
A lot of people have been deleted recently after working very hard to get up to a level where they can ask and answer unlimited.
If you get violated for something that is NOT even close to being offensive, please report it with the email header "harassment by another user" and state that you do not deserve this violation. Say that it is harassment and you want the matter investigated and the REPORTERS account suspended.
I will be reporting EVERY one from now on
Lets stop the mindless yobs destroying our work
Just one point though. If you deserve the Violation - take it on the chin !

No, Yahoo! isn't. It's just that there are a lot of vindictive people out there that flag you for many things even though you didn't break any guidelines and they quite possibly broke several.
Furthermore, people who follow the rules and are honest don't generally report others, and people who are so opinionated and biased that they can't respect other viewpoints often report those they merely don't like.
Yahoo! reviews some of the complaints, but others it just puts the hammer down on without further analysis. It's sad, but in some cases you are guilty until proven innocent. My account in particular was just suspended on charges of promoted "bodily harm" when I have never done any such thing.
There happen to be "certain" groups out there that just can't handle criticism; your example is proof of that.

Violations aside. Logan's Run. Wasn't that at 30 years? And they didn't know that they were being "put to sleep".
