If you have an interest in these areas, see if you can volunteer to work in these areas.
Volunteer at a pediatric unit in a hospital. (reading to the children, doing activities, etc)
Volunteer at a school, many schools have after school programs that you could become a mentor.
Talk to teachers and nurses and ask them what they think was the best preparation.
I teach 4th/5th grade and I can tell you that anything you do to gather experience working with children will help in the future.
I wish you luck and happiness.

I understand why you are asking this so early...schools want students to decide their future careers when they are way too young to make that decision.
Have you a taken an interest inventory? Try this website.. www.kuder.com and see the choices it gives you.
I am sure nurses would have negative feedback to tell you but I am a math teacher and would never suggest that anyone get into the profession. However, from reading other posts on yahoo answers, I can see that teaching is not bad all over the country, but it is horrible in my district.
You would never lack for a job in spec ed or math. Good luck!

Sweetie, if you're a freshman, you need to keep your mind and your options open, because you're probably going to change your mind at least a couple times before you hit college.

What's the most important thing you need to do right now is to take a broad variety of classes in high school and to try to get good grades in them. At the end of your sophomore year, you can try to start visiting colleges, but as a freshman, just try to do as well as you can in your classes.

Don't rope yourself into just a single career at that age. It's too young

Teacher...you seem to be interested...why don't you try tutoring kids in math? Or working a little bit at a special education school. See what classes you like at school, and decide off of that, thats what i did.

It shows that you have a caring, nurturing side by your interest in careers. I would advice you to take a variety of classes that perk your interest and strive for good grades.

I admire your ambition, but you have some time before you have to make a life decision, and you may change your mind as time goes on. Just focus on your studies and visit some colleges before you decide.

For me the best choice will be when you answer... What of those 3 things make you happier? That will be your answer because it will be what you will be doing for the rest of your life. I can tell that you are keen in kids... wow ¡¡¡¡¡¡ Good luck, answer with your heart.
