These are a mystery of the ages. Is it possible that they were dinosaurs that became extinct due to over hunting or natural disaster? The folk lore aspect far outweighs the reality. Just enjoy the stories. After seeing the stories recently about the huge octopus caught and killed is there any doubt that we kill anything that we don't understand? Something to be learned from history?

There are such things as Komodo dragons, which are the largest species of lizard on th planet. The grow between 6 and 10 feet long and live primarily in Indonesia.
Some people believe that species similar to the Komodo are the root of some Asian folklore which revolved around the dragon.

Only bearded dragons, komodo dragons, and possibly the early interpretation of crocodiles and alligators as dragons. Unless you want me to get started on quanmtum realities and the possibilities that the existence of a multiverse of infinite realities presents.

there are lizards that go by the name "dragon"-most famous the komodo dragons and the lesser water dragons. what were thought were dragons were probably ancient and medieval people coming upon fossilised remains of dinosaurs. they did not have the knowledge of dinosaurs and ways of dating the fossils, so they probably thought that they were relatively recent and that big serpents were creeping around the countryside.

dragons HAVE to be real. If they aren't, then how did someone think of them? I don't understand the whole prospect and everything, but i do know that they have to be real because ive seen one. yes, i am friends with a blue fire breathing dragon named Zyrco. he is an awesome friend, and a wonderful protector. i dont know what i could do without him, honestly. I know im prolly crazy... but he will kick your but if you make fun of me or anything.

I believe that dragons were nothing more but dinosaurs that lived among us. There are many traditions that mention creatures that resemble dinosaurs but call them dragons or other names. I think they are fantasy. There is a slight possibility that somebody but two and two together after finding fossils. The North American native on the prairies referred to dinosaur fossil bones as being from "the fathers of the buffalo". It is possible that the chinese referred to fossils the same way.

I've seen the special as well. I believe that it is true but I don't believe dragons are real today.

You must have missed the beginning of the show..... they "supposed" dragons to be real and extrapolated how it could be so from that assumption.....they more or less admitted that it was fantasy-science.
