The coimmercials are significantly louder than the shows they are in (and I don't care that the FCC says not, I've heard it!)

I hate the "Reality TV" overload. I'm so tired of all the reality stuff, especially tasteless shows like Trading Spouses and Nanny 911. Such garbage!! Also, sex is everywhere. It's a shame that comedy is so tasteless now. Tune into Nick at night so you can watch quality shows like I Love Lucy or Mary Tyler Moore, even The Brady Bunch is better than some of the crap thats on today!
Now there are also some good dramatic shows on like 24 House, and CSI...but times still have definitely changed so much. You have to be cautious when selecting something to watch especialy if you have children.

That the most of it plays to the iq and interests of 12 year olds and not adults.
Years ago in the sixties and seventies tv used to "white" papers on important issues of the day, to inform and enlighten one . Now it's main concern is with celebrity and entertainment news and is so "dummied down ".
The writing isn't as good, despite people saying this is the new golden age of tv, what a bunch of bull hockey.
There are no music programs or variety programs on, most of the humour comes from the toilet and it's not funny. Too many 'reality' shows which have absolutely nothing to do with reality or not the reality the average person lives with.
I retreat to PBS usually or watch my Canadian tv. stations .

The thing I dislike most about television is that it hooks you on it for way too long preventing you from doing things which are actually important.

I hate commercials!!!! Come on 75% of the show is commercials. I wouldn't mind a few, but it's just ridiculous. I know the sponsors are important, but give me a break.

That it takes people away from interacting with one another. They are watching, listening, thinking (with) the t.v. instead of engaging in conversation with another, listening to another person, interacting with another person.
I.E.. . . " Wait till the commercial comes on...then I'll talk/relate/listen to you ".
People are becoming more and more de-sensitized with one another through t.v. and somewhat computers and cell phones etc. At least with computers and cell phones people are communicating with one another...it's a ' thinner ' way of communicating...yet it's still there.
