There may be some confusion here. In the US some pipe manufacturers used Shell's polybutylene pipe. All I ever saw was black. There is a blue polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipe, but as far as I know it had none of the leakage problems. If you have blue pipe, I expect it has been broken, or eaten into by varmints.

Your water utility company can probably help you with information.

Can you go back and ask this in an understandable manner so maybe we can help you?

Edit - That helps a lot. Polyvinyl pipe was used for a lot of applications and later found to be nor suitable for underground use. It didn't hold up and developed leaks. You need to find out who the manufacturer of the pipe was(your going to have to dig it up) and find out what sort of replacement program they have as a result of all the class action lawsuits they were hit with. I wouldn't expect full replacement value, but they will have some sort of program.

Also, if your irrigation uses Poly Vinyl pipe make sure it has anti back flow restrictors on it. You don't want it being siphoned back into your drinking water.

Good luck and make sure and replace it all.

In the UK, if its a new house you can claim from the NHBC up to 10 yrs cover, if your builder was registered ( all national builders are ) if its older and it is your mains feed its your problem. If it was leaking in the service strip outside your boundary than its the water board.
