Hold down menu and centre button until the apple logo appears x

you can try 2 things.
1. jiggle the hold switch back and forth until the screen appears light.
2. hold down the menu and center button at the SAME time until the apple logo appears on the screen. this resets the ipod.

If you hold down one of the buttons...I think the center one...for like 10 seconds, it will reset.

you have to return it or send it back to the manuifatcure. They will fix it.
