Books that leave one with food for thought are truly excellent.
What transpired in the story is horrible and taught me how hard it must have been to live in Afghanistan. But it also showed Afghanistan in a different light, that the world there was once better.
Like a person above me, I also got so angry at the injustice of the characters. But also at the main character himself, which is hard to find in other books. Each character is complex and you're free to judge everyone.
The book left me feeling sad, though. Out of 1-10: 7

Best book I've read recently. Apart from the emotional storytelling, it gives an insight into Afghanistan which is so different from all the warring reports we read nowadays. Makes me feel very sad for the children living there.

Freakin awasome book, probably one of the best i have ever read. in the beging you might want to keep a list of characters because it gets confusing and all relates to itself in the end

Best book I've read in years. If you enjoyed it, read "The Namesake" by Jhumpa Lahir. Another excellent story about culture, people, and life.

It's sad!
I always know it's a good writer when I get mad at them for what happens to their characters.
