The best site is www.allofmp3.com.
It is incredibly cheap when compared to itunes. You can buy a complete album on allofmp3.com for the price of just one track on itunes.
It also has a much larger library of music in all genres and you are able to download music in a much wider variety of formats than itunes.
Oh yes, and best of all, your downloads will work on all mp3 players not just those overpriced ipods!

Find other P2P (peer to peer) sharing software. Like Kazaa, Imesh, Morpheus, Bitcomet, eDonkey, etc. There are quite a few of them. Realize that more of them are falling in the crosshairs of the big time corps for aiding in the unauthorized distribution of music in the form of, you guessed it, mp3s.
If you're asking in the hopes of finding a legal solution, there isn't one. Gotta pay. But from what I hear there are ways to get mp3 through itunes, or yahoo music for like a buck a song. Haven't tried it though, I'm old fashioned and buy CDs. I just like keeping up with all this P2P stuff ;)

Yeah Limewire is stuffed with viruses. attempt Soulseek for single songs and eMule for the completed cd. In eMule they only make each and all of the songs on a cd into one super report which you acquire. it is super in case you will not be able to locate each and all of the songs you prefer on a cd whether that's a splash slower than different courses.

Go to yahoo search, type in amazon free downloads then follow your instincts. Most of the music is by unknown artists but you can't expect headliners for free. We have found some really interesting material.

Also check out the Archive for free Live stuff that won't put you in jail for stealing like Limewire would.
