Depends on what you are talking about. Japan's economy and Singapore's economy will both be strong in the future. Singapore is a small island and Japan is a bigger country. They both have bright futures.

If beat with service, Singapore is much more far behind than Japan. There are lot more to learn for Singaporean in order to give a good and better service.

If beat with recyclable wastes in order to play a part to safe the earth, Singapore also far far behind than Japan. Not many Singaporean categories their recyclable products.

If beat with courtesy, Not only Singapore, I believe most of the country also can't beat with Japan.

I think not many country can beat Singapore in queueing up. Can see a lot of queue almost every where in Singapore, queue for "Big Sweep", queue for toilet, queue for applying a house, queue for etc, etc, and the longest queue will be at places/shops whereby giving "free gift".

No way, Japanese people are better in term of quality, honesty, ethical, discipline and hard working than the singaporeans. Japanese treat their business counterparts, colleagues, subordinates and people worked for them much better and can win their hearts. Singaporeans...no.

PS: I worked side by side with japanese engineers for 3 years and dealing with Singaporeans for more than 10 years. They are uncomparable, outclass.
