Hi. Take a strip of nichrome and attach an ohm meter probe to one end. As you move the other probe along the length of the strip, the resistance will change.

You can use a digital multimeter to measure the resistance of any conductor. In copper, for example. resistance is 1 ohm for 24 feet of 26 gage wire. (12 foot loop)
