Sure, you can transfer the prescription. It will take them a little longer than normal to fill the prescription, but its a normal event. If your normal pharmacy is something like Walgreens, you can go to another without transferring.
Just give them all your information about the prescription, and they will deal with everything else.

If you have an old bottle with the pharmacy RX number on it, the pharmacy you would like to go to can usually call and transfer the prescription. It isn't a one time deal, however. Once you transfer a prescription you transfer all your refills as well to the new pharmacy--if you want to continue going to your old pharmacy you will have to repeat the process to bring the prescription back. It shouldn't be a problem for any pharmacy to transfer for you.

Is the docket reciept an owing of the tablets from your last prescription? If so, then you cant go to another pharmacy with this.
In any other case, you will need a new prescription for the pills.

if it helps, i work in a pharmacy in uk. you wouldn't be able to get the prescription from a different pharmacy with only the owing slip, because it's a script only drug. Explain the situation maybe they'll deliver it, most chemists now deliver, other wise if the 2 chemists are the same company i.e lloyds or boots the pharmacist may phone the other branch and sort something out.
if they aren't the same company they wont do it. hope you get it sorted x

The new pharmacy will just call the old pharmacy and verify the prescription. Very simple.

Usually the pill requires a prescription, but if you are buying something over the counter, then any chemist will do. Be careful if you are relying on something over the counter though, it may not be the best thing for you, unless you are talking about the cap or something like that, but pills should have a prescription.

Try ringing the pharmacy you want to use and asking them. It depends on the laws where you live. In England you would need your original prescription, I believe.

You could ask at another pharmacy if you are currently out of your usual area. Also you could go to a family planning clinic in your location. Ring NHS Direct 08454647 for your nearest clinic and opening times.

If your contraception is a prescription (which I'm sure it is) then it is illegal for any pharmacy (UK or US) to just give you a repeat.

What you can do is telephone your doctor, they can OK the pharmacy (whichever one) or send over a prescription.

Good luck.

The only way not to get pregnant is not to have sex till you have managed to get a new supply.
