You're talking about Snuff movies that were in the film 8mm with Nicolas Cage. A Snuff movie is where someone is kidnapped off the street and actually murdered ("snuffed out" as it were) while it's being filmed by someone.

As Cage says in the film, Snuff movies are an urban myth. Although, you could argue that the hostage beheading videos from Iraq are snuff movies.

It was a very hard movie to watch. Yes, unfortunately it does go on. Right now there is alot of press in Maryland where I live about human trafficking and the fact that there is no law to make it illegal. Things like this happen far too often.

The actors are very good, but for me it's a bit difficult to imagine that in your world there is so much disgusting persons and places (that are described in the movie)! :)
