It's always more convenient to use RAM of the same manufacturer, that way you are sure that no problems with compatibility will occur.
I for an example, bought a RAM and when attempting to install with a RAM of a different manufacturer, it didn't work. I had to sell and buy 2 pairs of the same manufacturer.

yes you can its called dual channel memory, memory slots in dual channel dont recognize brands it recognizes speed and how much memory so if your 2 yellow ones are filled then fill the 2 orange one with a different brand just make sure all of your ram is the same speed, but they work in sets of 2, so 2 yellows have to be the same amount of ram and 2 oranges have to be the same amount of ram, all 4 have to be the same speed

yes you can mix and match, just make sure you dont buy memory speeds lower than your lowest module
this is because memory(ddr/ddr2)is backwards compatible,so if you have 2 x pc2100 modules you can buy a pc3200 module and it will work fine, however the higher module will come down to the lower speed(pc2100)266mhz
the manufacturer is not a problem,samsung,kingston,corsair,ocz...these are all good makes, however i have allways used kingston value, they may sound cheap and nasty but they have been 100% reliable for me
the crucial website(http://www.crucial.com/),has a excellent scanner which gives you a report on your memory and agp capabilities,it will let you know what type of memory to buy and you can even buy it direct from crucial
it also lets you know your max installable memory,so you can work out what size to buy next, and with vista here a 1gb module(=2gb) would stand you in good stead
good luck

that's regular for 32-bit variations of abode windows laptop working platforms. you could lose everywhere from 256MB to 1GB by way of the could desire to order handle area for reminiscence-mapped I/O instruments. A sixty 4-bit version of abode windows won't have this project, or a 32-bit version of abode windows that helps PAE (actual handle extension) once you initiate the laptop, the BIOS could desire to wisely come across all 4GB or RAM.

Yes it's fine to mix and match brands, but i would recommend that each stick in the pair is identical so that they run dual channel.

Hi
I do not think it matters; the only issue probably is how long or well will your cheaper ram work.
