Is it what Eleanor Roosevelt said?

Because reality has a liberal bias. They can't change the reality. So they try to keep the messenger from delivering it.

Well, first of all..... Your question is discussing people.. okay.. now we know where we are starting from...
I guess you don't see any of the liberal questions and answers do you? Like Chimpeachment, attacking cons and calling us stupid and uneducated.. Saying we are all barefoot rednecks? And, while we are on this vein... Why do libs call the Republican Party the party for the rich, but then say we are all ignorant scum? The two just don't match... much like your question...

While I can't disagree with your question, I think, if you are honest, you will have to agree that the same can be said of the left...particularly here at YA. It seems that it is much more common to bash Bush and insult Republican's than to honestly debate the issues of the day.

This is not a partisan issue. Both sides embrace it equally.

Conservatives are mentally constipated.

They see the world through their own narrow and tightly controlled point of view.

Any ideas that don't match theirs are an invasion force that must be eliminated and that includes the messenger.

Conservatives will not even consider any point of view that is outside their own limited beliefs and they ridicule any that are presented to them.

They do not want to be confused with facts or truth or scientific evidence.

They will ridicule it and ridicule the person trying to educated them.

It is best to leave sleeping minds of a conservatives alone.

You can lead a fool to knowledge, but you can't make them think!

So let's see...

Your Q. is about ideas? No.

Your Q. is about events? No.

Your Q. is about people (conservatives)? Yes!

Do I have that right?

Typical liberal holier / smarter / more compassionate than thou garbage!

(That would be the MESSAGE I'm attacking. We really don't care about YOU nearly as much as you think we do)

Depends on the message and the messenger...

if you stick john "hero of the Viet Cong" Kerry on the podium and have him talk about how he supports the military then of course he is gong to be attacked.

If you put Al "Never got a degree in environmental sciences" Gore to talk about Global warming, then that leaves plenty of room for opposition to his message.

You want your message heard then find the right people to tell your message.

If you keep picking the worst possible person to be the face of your message then your going to lose out on a large percentage of your support.

Dump your Jane Fonda's and your Ted Kennedy's, Kick people like Micheal Moore to the curb, Tell the Sean Penn's of the world to keep their opinions to them self's and I can promise you more people will hear your message.

But it's your party who puts the person out there in front of the idea instead of the idea in front of the person. And honestly I think you prefer it that way...

Then no one will notice your hypocrisy and your lack of substance because they all are either star struck to hear the true message or too repulsed to pay attention to weak arguments.

With Iraq and Afghanistan going less than smoothly due to the actions of an incompetent Administration, the last of the Bush supporters have nothing left but this tactic.

You just asked a question that puts you in the "small minds" category. Go figure.

BECAUSE LIBS ARE COWARDS WHO WON'T ENLIST AND ARE ARMCHAIR SUBVERSIVES...

Republican kids shouldn't have to do all of the fighting--period. Sixty percent of the military are Republicans and only 7% Liberals. It's time for Liberals to Man-Up. http://www.militarycity.com/polls/2003_chart2.php

P.S. Eleanor Roosevelt made Rosie O'Donnell look like Petra Nemcova. I can't respect a woman who doesn't care about her hygiene and personal appearance.

well mostly because the messenger is usually trying to present the message for something other than what it actually is.
