I agree! it also gives foreign teams advantages, because they know the style of play of the English players. Ignore the reply of Dick, I should think his surname is Head.

I can't believe this rubbish!

The England team have one of the most talented teams in the world but you have to blame it on foreign players!

The reason the national team is doing so poorly is because of poor management and lack of passion for the shirt!

If this law was to be introduced to the game I think that it would make the premiership a less exciting league to watch! there is an abundance of English talent in the premiership just look at the national team and pick out more than 2 players who are not near world class!

There used to be a rule that a team could not have more than 3 'overseas' players on the team sheet for any european competition but the EU ruled that this was unjust and the rule was lifted.

England haven't won the world cup since 1966 mainly because most of the players now are over paid prima-donas who care more about sponsorship and money than representing their country.

Going back a few years when there was not a premier league there were rules in place about the maximum numbers of foreigners in a team but they were changed because of the EC and the right to work in any EC country. In those days there were only Europeans playing in our leagues. The change opened the door to the rest of the world to come here and play football. I fear that the same problem is raising it's head in Rugby Union. England and Scotland had a disaster day on Saturday. Wales and Ireland lost but with some dignity. We are losing the depth of local talent in the premier teams.

Totally agree.
However brilliant the 'young guns' of Arsenal might be I can not believe that the media that goes on about how rubbish the England team and their manager are do not comment on the fact that there may be a link ie lack of English worldclass talent due to the top teams not being interested in homegrown players - the lack of players who are worldclass which leads to lack of options and lack of competition so that the few that are worldclass like Stevie G don't always play well for England cos they get complacent as they can just walk into the team.

We will not win Euro 2008 because the modern game is saturated by money and greed.
The players picked for the England squad should consider it an honour and a privilege to play for their country, and play their hearts out. Instead they are more obsessed with their club careers and the next pay cheque.

Plus we won't win anything with the fat ginger hamster McClarren in charge...

good and undesirable, it's going to be good for England yet no longer for the English maximum appropriate league, it's going to be great for the extra youthful English gamers because it is going to provide them a raffle to coach their stuff. Then the EPL would no longer be the best league in the world. People would watch other leagues, and even the top English stars might go elsewhere as well.
