There are more people like you than you think. Why not go the the religion and spirituality section. Many atheists hang out there. There is no evidence for gods existence, nor the existence of hell. You have nothing to fear. Fear of hell is the main reason churches get followers. They scare you into it. Assume there is a god for a minute. If he is all-powerful, and all-knowing, he would have seen into the future and know how many people would go to hell. I don't think there is a god, but if there is, he would not be that stupid. What is the point of hell? How do you learn a lesson if you can never get out. How would such a loving god torture some of his children forever? Even if there is a god and there is a hell, the chances of your friends religion being correct are so small, that fear of hell is not reason to convert. Of the many religions, all saying they are the one correct one, you have better odds of being struck by lightning than picking the correct religion. Reward of heaven if you do what the church says, and pain of hell if they don't. It is all BS, that they use to get control of people. Religions make loads of money, and hold great political influence. Don't let your friend pressure you into, or scare you into joining.
Don't let her use "pascals wager" on you. That says: that if you die and you don't believe in jesus, but he exists, you go to hell. But if you die and he doesn't exist, you loose nothing.
This argument has been defeated many times. What if I say to believe in purple hippos from the core of the sun just because they will let you into heaven when you die if you believe. What if one of the other religions is correct, etc.

Yes, there is a heaven, and God is real! Your friend isn't crazy, because obviously she's on the right path. You should talk to a pastor or some adult, and ask about some of the stuff you are questioning. I'll pray that you can find God, too!

In my opinion believe in what you believe in and not what others do many religions have their own outlook on death Christians , Catholics, and even Santero's believe in heaven difference is catholics and Christians believe in going to hell to santeros believe god is always willing to forgive but then on the other hand wiccans, Pagans, and such believe that there is no heaven or hell just a cycle one of rebirth this cycle you must go through a Really bad place then on to good then back to earth reborn there are many other outlooks on believing in God and heaven and hell I am Playing the neutral card myself so I do not offend anyone.

It is all up to you! Do your research, try to make your own decisions and just go at whatever you feel is right. I think the most important thing, the least you can do, is to have faith. My personal opinion is that this is hell where we live and those bad people that pass over and can't forgive themselves or don't feel bad for what they did stay in a grey void until they can pass those tests. It might or might not be true, but that is what I believe in. Hence, the choice is yours to make.

I believe in personal heaven and hell-- if you are a good person you will feel good about yourself and good things will happen to you-- if you are bad, you will self-destruct.
The point here is that you should believe whatever you feel comfortable believing-- if you get dragged into believing something your heart isn't into -- it won't matter to you anyway-- The only way you can be truly happy is to come up with your own philosophy instead of following in someone else's beliefs,

All the athiests I've met are so very hollow, pointless people. Maybe your friend is over-doing it a bit, but don't let that scare you off from exploring the spiritual/religious side of your being. Lemme ask you this: who would you let take care of your prized hampster for a weekend? A devout, god-loving person or some athiest?

People that beleive in God do look forward to heaven because we know that no matter how we act on earth, if we are in Christ,(repented, baptised) we have someone (Jesus) that knows how hard it is just to live and will stand in trial for us, because He loves us. Don't we all want that kind of home to look foward to? God knows who he will save and if you knock, the door will be opened, maybe not in a way you want to go in,but its there for you. Faith isn't crazy, spiritual evolution is if you will give your life to Him and trust (faith) Have her look up the White Throne Judgement in Revalations if she says your not going.

hi/
no your best friend is not crazy, and nether or you, it has taken her a short time to get to where she wants to be in her life, her belief in god is a good thing. and you questioning what you don't understand is also a good thing. it means that you want answers to a question that so many just cast aside and allow man kind to decide for them.
you need to believe in something so why not god is just not enough for you, don't allow someone else to just tell you what you need to know then you are not making you own choices. try going to church for about a month and really lesson to what is being said about the bible, then go to one of these programs the talk about alternative reasons as to why we are here. then make up your own mind.
and just so you know i believe in the almighty god. for me there is no other alternative, or explanation as to how we got here or how we will leave.
