Other that the live bearers (guppy. molly, platty/swordtails) aquarium fish lay eggs. Very few will do so in a tank, and even fewer in a community tank. (When do the fish will eat them.) Generally you need to isolate a breeding pair in their own tank. Often you'll need to do certain thing to fool them into thinking it's mating season.

The live bearers will breed in tank, and if you take steps to insure the babies don't get eaten. (Breeder net/box, or lots of plants) They'll breed like rabbits. In fact getting them stop is really hard.

Yes, fish do hatch in aquariums. Guppies are a very common fish to do this. Our guppies had some babies, they are very small and risk being eaten. Out of a few baby fish, only one grew to full size. Good luck!
