How do you translate it from French to English?

It means literally it's life but for an English speaker it would be more accurate to translate it by " that's the way it is" or "that's the way it goes".

It means, "That's the way it goes." or something along those lines. You know when people say, "C'est la vie" when something not so good happens? thats what they're saying.
