I've rented at Hertz, Avis ... even Rent a Wreck, they're all about $80 to $120 for a weekend. Anyone heard of a place that will rent for like $30 a weekend ... even if there's a gimmick (like they put ads on the car or something).

You can rent a cargo van at Rent a wreck for 15 bucks a day plus mileage. Or try a compact car.

Go to the rental companies website, they have specials that might fit your needs. I got a mini van for two days at Dollar.com for 90 bucks after the promo special. Best I've seen online. but, the catch is they don't have many pick up places and you have to bring it to the same place

Here's what Enterprise has for a Chevy Aveo

I disagree with the other responders. I believe rental cars tend to be in better than average condition. Yes, some rental cars get abused but for the most part they are used just like an ordinary vehicle and are on the whole better maintained. While a rental may occasionally be abused it's usually only an isolated renter. When you buy a car from a dealer or private individual you might be buying a car that has been continuously abused. Speaking for myself I probably have 50,000 miles driving rental vehicles. I have never taken one off road and rarely have even had one over 90 on the interstate. That's exactly how I drive my own car and I don't think I'm unusual. In most cases you need to be 25 to rent a car so it's very unlikely the car has been used for drifting or street racing. I have heard that the major rental agencies honor their warranties better than the average car dealer and have more influence with the factory or local dealers because of the number of cars they buy. All too frequently car dealers don't even honor the new car warranty unless you make a stink. How many times has someone been told "it's nothing to worry about", "that's the way it's made", "they are all like that". No haggle pricing doesn't mean good pricing. On those occasions when I helped someone shop for a used car I found the rental car prices to be rather high.
