When they pass a soldier on the street, do they thank them for protecting their freedoms and offer to buy them a beer? Or do they avoid eye contact and pretend not to see them?

They don't, every time I've encountered one they've tried to incite conflict...

I really don't think that the Liberals even consider whether or not they are supporting the troops. I'm sure that in their eyes that they are doing what they feel is best for the troops. The have a completely different constituent base than the Conservatives have. The left probably does feel that they are best supporting the troops by attempting to have the President withdrawal the forces from Iraq. The problem resides in that if we don't finish the job now, we will be forced to return under the guise of a UN force in the next two to ten years to attempt to end the civil war that will have erupted in Iraq at that point. Of course there will be more outside resources from other UN nations (hahaha) and our troops will have even more restrictions placed on them as a "joint UN peacekeeping force" than what the do now, but no one from the Democratic party wants to look that far ahead. They are more concerned with making it look good to the US public now by pulling the American forces out of Iraq and hoping that it doesn't go to a complete wastebasket before the 2008 Presidential elections.

AH! Another neo-Conservative who didn't hear President Bush's press conference on Valentines day where the President said that "one can be anti-war and still support the troops" (quote as close as I can remember it).

I'm actually a libertarian rather than a "liberal", but I do support our troops. I have sent them care packages with supplies that they aren't getting from their bosses, but gravely need.

So...what are YOU doing to support the troops? Lip Service?

As a fellow veteran and brother to those guys I do in fact buy them a beer. I also support their right to life by opposing the stupid war based on lies that is wasting their lives. I am not a pacifist but you are the one that does not respect our armed forces if you think they should continue to be killed for no possible gain.

I would be willing to bet that the majority of the doctors and nursing staff rehabilitating our maimed soldiers are liberal or at least were taught by liberal college professors(see earlier cons statement).
We support them enough to try to get them out of harms way in a stupid war Bush got us into.

And no, I don't buy them a beer.

I pay their whole bar tab.

No the quote was tha you don't have to support his surge plan and can still support the troops.

Every person in the military I have talked to believes in what they are doing in Iraq.

Hello, they support our troops by wanting them to come home.
The ones who are sending them to die for jr's thirst for other people's stuff are the REAL enemies of the US.

Mr White Secure American did a fine job of answering you: why not stop your useless posturing and go fight in Iraq yourself?
