while the oils secreted through your skin may damage SOME really RARE plants, this is the first i ever heard tell of it. gloves are worn to first, keep hands clean, especially if you are planning on handling food later, and secondly, to protect your hands from scratches, plant poisons, insect and spider bites and other gardening hazards.

No, your hands are fine. Generations of gardeners have managed to grow beautiful gardens and did not wear gloves

No, you only wear gloves to keep your hands clean, and free of cuts/scrapes while prunning.

I don't think they're poisonous. I heard the oils from your skin can have a wilting effect on flower petals.

no. its only poisonous when you put some poison into it and ask someone to lick it, or if you lick it yourself.
