MP4 PLease Help Please?

i was charging my mp4 and when i looked to check where my battery level was it would not come back on. it will not take a charge and the computer will not even recognize it when i put in the usb chord. what should i do? plz help. Like i have no clue why it wont reconize it and i have to hold the wire for it to charge

Yes you can plug it to the wall with a thing but that doesnt work either i think something is wrong with the cable but i already returned one before. Also its a mp4
