I mean with Global Warming and all, you'd think that he would at least take public transportation. Assuming that exists in Hollywood to begin with. And the same question applies to all of those Academy Members who, I predict, will give Big Al an Oscar for his movie "An Inconvenient Truth". Wouldn't it be a beautiful sight to see all of those starlets in their rented designer gowns and jewelry stepping off the same bus that says "Route 910-Beverly Hills" ?

Sidebar to Elana: In a future question I will address the general question of how much carbon we should each be allowed to emit, and should some people get a bigger allotment than others.

Very simple answer....YES. Gore probably did more to open peoples eyes about the reality of Golaba Warming than anone or anything else has. Ever that person occupying the White House has F I N A L L Y come out and said (ahem cough cough gasp) climate change is now a serious issue. So yes I think Al Gore should win an Oscar....maybe even the White House

Academy Awards have been questionable in the previous. And the Nobel Peace Prize has lost a super sort of it is credibility. Our international Warming reasoning nonetheless leans in the direction of the belief of Orbital Eccentricities of Earth, and transformations interior the sunlight's Output. whilst Mt Saint Helen's erupted, would 18th, 1980, scientists envisioned it ought to alter climate varieties. think of of the numerous volcano eruption's & earthquakes!

This is the same logic as "If you're so pro-war, why don't
you go fight in it."
Sure, they should be working towards reducing their own
carbon footprint, but realistically, their carbon footprints
were a lot bigger than yours or mine to begin with. That is,
their jobs naturally made them cause more CO2 emissions
than us by many orders of magnitude.
If we're all fighting to reduce our carbon foot prints equally,
they're still going to look like mass polluters compared to
most people because of the travel.
Do I think they should be fighting for better public
transportation, etc? You betcha.
Would it be practical for them to use public transportation?
No, it would tie the system up for the evening, they wouldn't
get to where they were going and (here's the important
thing), they would have less of an opportunity to spread the
message.
I think it probably would be appropriate for them to all
arrive in hybrid or electric vehicles, though.

LOL..that was a great question and a logical one if he is going to back up his opinions! But I wonder what he would say to all us Midwesterners after Feb.' snow storms and cold climate changes. A little global warming looks good about now!

He shouldn't bother going; if "A Convenient Lie" wins any awards, even technical ones, this world is more messed up than he is alleging it to be.

There is no global warming going on. I wish there was. My pipes keep freezing up. Temperatures go up and they go down.
