PSP problem. Any help?

I've bought a PSP about a year ago now. The problem is when I play any UMDs, preferably games, it makes a loud screeching noise like a ecccccchht sound. How can I fix this? It's very annoying.

hi. I have a psp just like u do. don't bother to try to fix it or take is apart. that screeching noise is actually the reader lens scanning the UMD. it usually happens when u save a game or are loading one. that is just how the reader is. i know its annoying!

u should take it back to sony if u still have warrenty. if not take it to the repair shop. it must be with the metal part problem.
