Ostriches and zebras are too wild to be domesticated. It's been tried, and it's mostly too much trouble. They just don't get along with humans trying to ride them or make them pull carts.

It has been done -- but takes too much time and effort to be worth the results. They kick, they bite, they run away.

Just to add to your question...Why don't they grow there own food and use birth control. Lord knows the US and other countries have tried to teach them.
