Take precautions for what?

After a vasectomy, you can engage in sex the next day, BUT, this doesn't mean you are yet sterile. You still need to take precautions with birth control. You are required to take a semen sample after two weeks of your vasectomy to determine if there is sperm in your semen. Until the doctor indicates your semen no longer contains sperm, only then can you eliminate the need for birth control methods.

Sounds like you're done! The doctor who performed the operation should advise on how long you should 'rest' but you can't get your partner pregnant now.

Not necessary. As soon as you're healed enough to masturbate without discomfort you get a sperm count done and if it's clear, go for it.
