Why on earth do they drive so slow?????

Question

When you drive on a Highway from Pta to JHB or JHB to Pta, why do you sometimes get a black young lady or man, (mostly woman), who drives 80km per hour in either the middle or the fast lane? It's a Highway where people drive high speeds? That is why it's call Highway after all??? You do get white people doing it as well, but the majority people doing it, are black. Why can’t they just drive in the slow lane??? This is just a question in general, I'm not being racist, but I think one should tell them the speed limit is 120km p/h. It is dangerous, one can drive into the back of them, VERY VERY DANGEROUS!!!!! (Strange, taxi drivers either drive like mad people or they "crawl" the road, WHY?) Then again, men (white, black what ever) in BMW's are driving like if they are on their way to hit the jackpot. Just sorry that sometimes they drive themselves into the "after life"... An accident where a, let's say BMW driver smashing into a 80km p/h black women's car is surely not amusing

So Moloi, what you are actually saying is that women are the worst drivers. Ouch!!! Ja, I guess we are... After I posted my question, I was on the highway, and yet again, it is mainly women driving sooooo stupid.... (As I said in my question, just make sure). It is as if they are scared to drive!

Oh and Alfie boy, I know that, but as you should know "South Africa" is not known for "following rules"... Remeber!

Innocentia, LOL, goodness I had a nice laugh now! And come to think of it, my mom drove into a taxi the other day, but not because she was speeding, the taxi broke right infront of her and she was looking away for a split second, it was no big accident but it gave her a lekka fright!

i just think men have that "need for speed"... whereas women are annoyingly careful if not blond sometimes. i live in Johannesburg and get irate at all sorts. having been taught by an instructor (who is male) and my boyfriend... i should think I'm one of the good drivers. and having been in a taxi before, those are horrid, some women are great drivers and others are horrid... there is no one race that is better than the other. i once saw a white women in traffic applying mascara and hit the back of a bantam, then in another incident, a black women was doing something similar... applying lipstick and holding up the rest of the cars behind her as soon as traffic started moving again. for men, i promise you... they are little boys obsessed with these big machines...give them a far stretching open road, they will love it!!! black or white... taxi drivers? thy are totally different driving species all on their own... they should just become F1 or Grand Prix drivers, they'd put SA on the map...lol

I was born and grew up in Joburg, and one thing I'm certain of is that many people will disagree with you that black men drive slowly. You should not forget that all black men are "taxi drivers". So it's the first that I hear that we drive slowly.

I now live in the southern cape and do a lot of driving in cape town, too. I always remark that ther western cape's obsession with america makes them think this is america. They drive on the right, VEEEEEEERY slowwwwwwwwww. Interestingly, both Cape Town and George are predominantly white and they are these slow drivers I refer to! Maybe it's a question of who are majority in a particular city!

I prefer not to say prejudicial statements that compartmentalise races or genders but I will this time for the sake of ending my response. Ask any male person (not females) who they fear most on the road. Majority will tell you that they fear driving alongside, behind or in-front of a white female. My personal experience is that I was hit from the right side of my car in 2000 in Knysna by a white woman driver. She wanted to turn to the left but first moved into a right-turn only lane - without indicating turn to the left. as I was already in passing her on the left (the right I had), she got into me.

As for BMW drivers, I agree with you. Sadly I'm a BMW driver, too!

Didn't you know that when you buy a BMW you get a book with it with a different set of traffic laws that only apply to BMW drivers?

Wonder what will happen if you put those slow ones in a BMW.....

My Prius is pristine, no longer a single bumper sticky label or sticky label of any sort. The 55mpg is a real blessing here in California the place customary unleaded is over $3.00 in line with gallon. using gradual, no, the linked fee shrink is my shrink and that i've got not got any hassle preserving up with the site visitors pass on the parkway. grotesque, no, as they say "splendor is interior the attention of the beholder". in reality i think of you're jealous for the reason which you won't be in a position to arise with the money for the preliminary investment. My guess is you're using, a clunker or mom's previous wagon.

I do see your point. I have run up on slow drivers and had the s+++ scared out of me. But that's my fault. I should be watching the road.

Read the Highway Code. There is no middle lane or fast lane. There is a lane for slower traffic, a lane for faster traffic and an OVERTAKING lane.
