apparently some of the people answering the question do not read the whole question as they are advising you to shoot or poison them.Ok this worked for me as I live in the country too and it also works for keeping the birds out of the garden. First you need about a 2 to 3 foot stick a 1x2 will work nicely. Now go to you local $1 store and purchase aluminum pie plates the kind that they put store bought pie in the throw away kind.Take the plates and make a small hole in it near the rims, insert a light wait piece of string about a foot & half long, Tie the one end onto the pie plate knot it a couple of times to make sure that it is secure. Doesn't have to be to long, the knot that is, about an inch. now the other end you nail or staple to the piece of wood. You have to put 2 pie plates on the stick in order for this to work make the string on one pie plate shorter than the other about 2 inches. Now hammer the stick into the ground. about 4-6 inches. now the pie plates will blow in the wind and create a clanging sound & when there isn't enough wind for this to happen, which it only takes such a little bit of wind for this to work, the sun will bounce off of the pie pans to create what looks like movement so it will scare both birds and rabbits...............Good Luck

You can try sprinkling dried blood in your garden - I'm pretty sure you can buy it at the garden center. My dad says the rabbits don't like it.
Unfortunately, since rabbits multiply rapidly, you're eventually going to have to contend with more & more. They always stay within the same mile-or-so radius, so it's not like they're going to just move away.
My dad catches them live in a humane trap. This is going to sound weird, but when he gets one, he puts on long leather gloves & moves it from the trap to a 5 gallon bucket with a lid. He takes the rabbit for a drive & releases it in park about 5 miles away. (If you don't get it out of the circle in which it lives, it's going to come back). He does this at least once a day, but he's retired & has nothing else to do but mow the lawn & protect his vegetables.
There's probably some kind of animal control company that can do something similar for you. Maybe you can check with the SPCA or similar agency for advice.
Good luck, I hope this helps.

If you had a dog such as small terrier or collie and perhaps a couple of cats the chances are the rabbits will not want to interfere with your space because there are predators living with in that space. This will work with out killing the animals. No amount of fencing will stop them coming in to your garden.

My grandpa used to drive a steak into the ground with a tinfoil plate attached from a string. When the wind blew it would move & make noise to scare away the rabbits. The tinfoil plates would come from old tv dinners. Not sure if they still come that way but you get the point.

No in short. You need to protect your plants. There are products you can buy to put them off and things you can build around your plants to keep them away. Visit the garden centre near you.

Maybe if you ask them nicely... ?
What about if you plant some plants just for them, like cabbage or whatever they like to eat best, then they'll eat that and leave your flowers alone.
Or maybe it's not rabbits' fault that your plants get destroyed. I couldn't think they'd jump over a 3 foot fence...
Frankly, if I had rabbits in my garden, i'd be so happy I wouldn't care if they nibble on my plants :-)
P.S.: Unbelievable how many people here suggest to kill or poison the rabbits. With so many violent people around it's no wonder there are constantly wars going on!
