Disney can be crowded just about any time of the year. It is a popular place to visit, so it can be busy. That being said, just about any time that you go when scool is in session should be fine. You will want to avoid holidays, any school breaks, summer time, etc. and you will see much lower crowds.

One thing to keep in mind, if you go during value season, this is when Disney does refurbishments and things like that. If you go during the value season, that could also mean some rides and things will be closed. So, before making final decisions, you should check if there is anything scheduled for your dates.

There are three times of the year when the crowds are the lowest. The first is the week after Labor Day until the week of Thanksgiving. This is one of my favorite times to go, weather is good, crowds are good, etc. The next would be the second week of January through the first week of February, January seems to be pretty popular for refurbishments. Finally, you have the week after Thanksgiving through the week before Christmas.

These should be the times with the lowest crowds for you to go.

Prior to school getting out for the summer. Also, February is a good time to go, weather is good, crowds are down. I was there in mid April last year. Weather was starting to be 'uncomfortable', crowds were there, some rides took along time to get into (more than 30-45 minutes). October is also a good time, once again, weather not too bad, kids back in school.
Have fun~ it's my most favorite place in the world!

NOW, I always go to Disney this time of year because the crowd is not there. I think it is because everyone has just gone there for Christmas vacation and if they are going any time soon it would be for spring break. I have proof too, if you look at the Disney stocks this time of year they are going down because not too many people visit this time of year. But, you have to hurry because the weather is about to warm up and the crowd will start to come (at the end of march). Hope you have a magical vacation! :)

I can honestly say that from experience New Years Day is the best as soon as they open. I think too many people sleep in...hangovers etc. We literally walked on rides instantly and rode everything. It was a blast! I agree with the off season suggestions too, avoid the peak season end of May - Labor day.
