I think the length of a readable answer depends on the composite factors of the question, such as genre and IF (intelligence factor). If the IF is higher than 40.877%, then logically answers of over 300 characters should be reasonable. Other composite factors of a question include relevance of question to the current ISD, the controvesiality of the questions focus, and the balance of CP and DP. If the CP is higher that 87.6% then the question should be understood as unbalanced and therefore long answers cannot be trusted to have any relevance to civil meaning. If the DP is higher that 62.71%, then the questions relevance to the current ISD must be lower than 23.8, and therefore long answers are unjustified as there can be no meaning.
To determine the IF or a question, you must first list all the possible meanings and all possible answers (do not include answers with more that 5 of the same general composite factors). The expression is (if = m+a/cxr)
I will use the question above as an example.
(m) Possible meanings: 56
(a) Possible answers: 123
(c) Characters in the question: 63
(r) Relevance to ISD: 3
if = m + a / c x r
= 56 + 123 / 63 x 3
= 189 / 63 x 3
= 3 x 3
= 9
The IF of this question is 9.0%, therefore answers to this question should be short and sweet.
Unlike my answer. Whoops.

Not unless I asked the question, and even then I sometimes don't bother! I guess it depends on the question and how long an answer it requires. Personally, I liked longer answers because they suggest more effort and time has been put in but answers can be overlong and sometimes a short answer is best. Like now for example, I could have simply written: no.

Depends on the topic. If they ask a rather intelligent questions then you most likely are going to expect long answers and I will read it. But if you ask a silly question and theres a long answer I dont read it, because most likely the answer is going to be just as stupid as the question!

Not the long cut and paste ones. That is not what I am looking for. I want original thought and to the point.
