Yep! She was activating the Holy Materia in the Forgotten City of the Ancients. Immediately after, she was killed upon the altar by Sephiroth. Later on, it will be revealed that she was successful in activating the Holy, but Sephiroth was holding it back. So only when Cloud finally defeats him, is Holy truly set free.

She prayed to the ancients, her ancestors, to activate the materia that she was holding in her hair so that the earth would have a fighting chance against Sephiroth and the Black Materia. After her death, it fell into the water below where no one can reach it.

I'm struggling to make sense of your question, as you have the past tense in 'did', but the present tense in 'kill'.
Why not try again, and next time be a bit more literate.
