Um, because nothing but abstinence or a total hysterectomy is 100%.

Really? I've had TL 6 yrs ago too and I have heard that not all TL's are successful. You may be one of the unlucky ones if the test says positive. If a pregnancy test is positive that means there is pregnancy hormone in your system and you'd better see a doctor in case it becomes an ectopic pregnancy just to be on the safe side. If you are pregnant you may be able to sue the surgeon for the heartache and distress this unwanted pregnancy will cause. Good Luck.

Depends on the type of tubaligation you had as there are several different ones. I would definitely see a doctor to rule out ectopic pregnancy and go from there. Good luck.

Was it a total tubal? I got the bands and my Gyno. told me that after a while that what will happen is tiny holes will appear and the little critters make their way in. I guess it would be the same for a tubaligation too. Didn't your Gyno. say that it could happen to you as a warning? If not get some more information from him or her.

Just like any other form of contraception, a tubal is not 100% effective in preventing pregnancy. It's possible that there were some strong, determined swimmers that found their way in. You may want to book an appt. asap as you could end up with a tubal pregnancy also which would require immediate attention.

Hi ...

Ive just had mine done well 3mths ago when my yougest daughter was born by c-section and i was told that its a 1/500 chance it wont work and they see its more unsecessful in the 1st month and 5-7yrs after.

Im not sure why, but i hope mine doesnt fail ive had my 3 beautiful children.

I think the best option is to talk to your doctor to why this has happened they might be able to explain it ..

First things first - go see your doctor as spontaneous conception after a TL carries a high risk of the pregnancy being ectopic.

Second, sometimes TL fails. It depends on what type of procedure was performed and the skill of the surgeon who performed it.

But please, see your doctor without delay and if they don't offer it, really push for an ultrasound exam to confirm the position of the baby.

Best of luck.

It's possible. Nothing is 100% guaranteed. You need to see a Dr. because it could be a tubal pregnancy or it could be a successful pregnancy.
