Easiest thing to do would be to get an external burner, plus if you replace the laptop at some point you can keep the burner :)

for me to do it about Â£800 quid !!.......... i live in UK

seriously look online for local pc repair shops or phone around and ask for a few quotes.

you may be surprised how much difference in price you get !!
