GM corn is moving into the Philippines. at the same time EU forbids it, because once planted, all corn will be polluted. How do you feel about this?

Yes, I am. Genetically-modified organsims may be high-yielding now, but we have no idea what the long-term effects might be. IMHO, we shouldn't take the risk--as it is, our farmers are already on the losing end, and GMOs might make their situations worse.

yes i am concerned not only because it will worsen the situation of our farmers but also because we the consumers would also be greatly affected particularly in terms of health. we wouldn't want to have a baby later on who has an eye missing or any deformities caused by these genetically modified products but the sad part is. GMO has long been in the Philippines. if you do a bit more of your research, you'll find out that many areas in luzon and visayas have been using these as their products.
the monsanto company in isabela is one of the pioneers in introducing these kinds to the farmers.
another sad thing is that many of the food we buy and eat from the market are already with GMO- butterfinger chocolate, the nesvita products of nestle are some of the many products out there with GMO.
