I ask this question once in a meditation. I then tried to keep my mind a complete blank to see if anything relevant would surface.
After a few moments the thought surfaced in my mind, "Simplicity teaches not".

The form of the question describes an association you've made relative to an assumption of truth called "life". And there seems to be an aassociation that hard is not good. So, do ya want to shift that life being hard sucks. Or would you want to explore your assumption that you have a life and that life is hard. Your call. While it seems to be absolute there really are infinite possibilities available. Be honest where you are and put forth the effort to make the shift. Honesty and effort, honesty and effort....

actually I think that we are all each and everyone of us put here for a purpose. Life is hard for some, but you are the only one that has control over your own life. It is what you make of it. When you think that your own life is too hard - take a look around you....the guy sleeping under the bridge, the woman living at the secret shelter for abused women, the little kid who only knows being beaten....life my friend is what you make it.

hi Ray,
thank u posing such a question.
the best reason i can give that why our lives are so hard are because " we are never given a chance to LOOK WHAT HOLDS OUR INSIDE".
Starting from our childhood we are taught many that are necessary only for sufferring not to be blessed with eternal happiness.
If we are given a chance to LOOK WHAT WE ARE REALLY MADE UP OF, we can find that eternal bliss.
what we are taught is to be like someone else- a poet, a singer, a scientist, an artist ....the list goes on. there is no end for it.
while the truth is that EVERYONE IS UNIQUE ON THE PLANET, WE CANT IMITATE ANYONE. WE CAN BE JUST WE, AND NO ONE ELSE. JESUS, BUDDHA HAPPENED ONCE. THEY SHALL NEVER COME BACK AGAIN. I
IT IS NOT IN THE NATUR TO REPEAT ANYTHING.
BUT WE CAN REACH SAME DESTINY WITH WHAT WE ARE NOW.

Life is hard in order to make us strong. I know a perfect life without difficulties sounds enticing, but then I would probably turn out to be a snobby spoiled brat if I had such a life.

Nothing worth having is easy. If it was easy you wouldn't appreciate it. Adversity builds character. How is a pearl formed? Out of pain. Beauty comes out of despair. It is our trials and tribulations which make us stronger people. How can you know joy if you haven't tasted sorrow? How can you appreciate success if you've never endured hardship?
Life is a test. Do the best you can with what you have.

Life is only as hard as we make it and allow others to.

Because there are too many of them fighting with each other for sustenance apropos the limited earthly resources. Once life learns to tap the spiritual resources, it no longer remains hard!!

Life is the way you see it, the way you want it, the way you feel it. Try to take it light, it will not be so hard. Relax. Indulge yourself with something you like. It will take much of the burden away from your shoulders.
