The most recent news item was from last May, when she told Fox reporter Roger Friedman that she will replace Celine Dion at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas in 2008. It was reported that Caesar's will build a unique venue for Cher to perform.

She's supposed to be mummified when she passes on. She's even getting a gilt edged sarcophagi to rest in.
