Visit Spain business site on Google. Your husband may be better off starting his own small business, rather than work for someone else...other than a British company. Spain is notorious for plumbing problems, so there's always plenty of work. My sister lives in Calpe. Good luck

I live just north of Alicante and there are millions of ex pats in this area who still prefer to deal with English speaking tradesmen so I imagine he won't have too much trouble finding work. If he wants to set up a business himself he will probably need to find a Spanish partner but initially he might to well just to put advertising in the local English shops of which I have no doubt there will be many.

I had a hell of a time finding a reliable plumber so if he turns up, and does a good job at a reasonable price he should do well. One area where I can tell you they don't have a lot of experience is with macirators, they call them bombas over here. In fact he could consider contacting Saniflo and seeing if they want an engineer in that area, I know for a fact that the guy in Alicante that covers that part of spain is a rude, lazy ignorant git who'd rather not leave his shop if he can avoid it.

Good luck,

There's plenty of expats in La Manga, so if your husband doesn't speak Spanish thats the best option.
If he does then he should inquire with one of the building companies, such as Grimanga.
Will you be on the strip?
If so see ya in Puerto de Thomas Meistro. (the best steaks with truffle sauce at El Mosquito!!!mmm)
There's also The Reporter, free English newspaper (Costa Calida and surrounding areas) many businesses advertise in here. Its published fortnightly on fridays an is a good resource.
There's loads of potential in the marina, everyone knows everyone who lives there an its a little village so ask around.
Try asking companies such as The Spanish connection, they deal with maintenance and property after sales, as well as new build and rental.
Hope thats of some help. All the best with your move.
