are you considered a potential star if you have talent but no looks or vice versa or1/2 talent and 1/2 looks or do you need the whole package?

Talent suppose to be what you need, but in this shallow society, you have to look perfect, the package should be 80% talent and 20% the look, but in the real world, the shallow one is 90% looking good and 10% talent, in some cases there have been where some artist had been just looking and the talent had been borrowed for someone else, ex. Vanilla Ice.

its not what you know but who u know - there are some seriously talented and good looking actors out there - and all of them have workrd their arses off to get into the position they are in today... there are also some extremely talented not so goodlooking actors who have also worked hard maybee a bit harder than the good looking ones, to get where they are.... then there is paris hilton and nicole richie..........
models are all airbushed to perfection so that if you saw them in everday life you would barely even recognise them...
I think it is a combination of things..... get the training so that you have the talent and get out there and let everybody who is any body know who you are - do big brother if you have to - as that is a giant step up to stardom, join agencies, join theatre programs do what ever it takes to get connected with the buisness you want to be in and be in everybodies face.... let them know who you are and what you do.... Looks only help someone so far...

It would be good for you to have some talent and looks, but what really makes people celebrities is their star appeal. Some just have charisma and people like them.
Sometimes you just need to be odd enough...like Anna N. Smith...just be bizaar and that can keep you going.
But I think for serious stars, you need to have the whole package! Looks, talent and charisma.

You have to have a talent and it helps if you look perfect, but really it is about luck and being in the right place at the right time in order to get your big break.

there are tons of celebrities that have no real singing talent or acting talent or whatever. yes they are usually pleasing to look at-especially females- but what you need is money.

lots of people become famous without the looks.....Steve Buschemi! Dude is ugly as sin, but everyone I know knows him and he has been in like a million movies. Although without looks you will probably never get to the same level as say Brad Pitt.

To be a celebrity you should have both looks and talent. but you should have good accent also.

juz have the confidence.. thanks to technology nowadas, u can airbrush ur photos, makeup can be applied to perfection and with flawless, voices can be automated and sung by someone wit a real lovely voice, u can juz lip-sync.. and having contacts wit celebrities can help.. or juz go to myspace or youtube and advertise urself! *good luck* but hopefully, u're blessed wit a pleasant face and respectable voice coz that wil gives u a much higher advantage and u'll get paid higher!
