We decide right or wrong based on two parameters

What we have been told
&
What suits our objective

It's wrong to be dishonest. Explanation:

Lies are told to control the thoughts of another, in other words, it's repulsive behavior. Any time a person chooses to be dishonest it means they are being manipulative and can't be trusted. It's like throwing a boomerang ...if one chooses to lie they will cause themselves not to be trusted, hated in some cases, and abandoned. So obvioulsy the opposite would be honesty.

The Ten Commandments include law and ethics for a reason because it's the only way life can result in peace.

we generally determine right and wrong relative to what we find as normal or beneficial(right) or abnormal and harmful(wrong). to people without morals, right and wrong are determined relative to that individual(selfishness). An example is the petty criminal. shoplifting is wrong, but that individual views it as right because there is a reward for doing it and not getting caught. some subsets of US culture view shoplifting as OK because it is supposedly OK to steal from somebody if they have more material goods than you.

Yes, there really is a such thing as right and wrong. in the physical world those are determined by nature, where wrong decisions are punished by death or injury. morally, right and wrong are determined ultimately by God, who may or may not send various plagues or heroes against those who do wrong.

We're taught right from wrong from the time we're little, but I think you have a built in mechanism that let us know when something isn't right. Like we hurt someones feelings or physically.A feeling comes over you when you know it's wrong. Now, you may decide to ignore those built in alarms that are screaming at you to not do whatever thing that's bad that you're about to do. Now, there are people that ignore that feeling so much that the don't feel it anymore. They usually turn out to be criminals, but even so, I think the majority of the people are good more than bad. I know there are mean people out there, but I bet even those people have some good in them and that's what I try to look at.Just listen to that little voice inside of you. It'll let you know what's up. I know mine screams at me. I listen.

--We do not determine that at all, the determination has already been made by God and is self-contained throughout the Bible:

(2 Timothy 3:16-17) “16 All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.”

There is a right and wrong. One basic way is to see how an action will affect you or the others around you. Anything that hurts others or yourself is not soemthing that is right.

Our ideas of Right and wrong are based on our ides of Good and evil.

The good and evil that you see don't even exist in reality, at least not outside of the mind that believes in them. They are only judgments passed by the individual from their own unique perspective. What one person sees as bad or evil may seem to be the only logical thing to do from some other perspective. The ideas of both good and evil are point of view specific. This is why people like bush and bin laden are either loved or hated. Bush is seen as good by people who share his fear based thought system. Those who have a compassionate concern for all of mankind often see him as evil.

Bin laden is much the same. He is a villain in much of the western world, but he is somewhat of a celebrated pop star on the Middle East. There are T-shirt shops that sell items with his picture as though he was Jesus. It all depends on your point of view or perspective.

To sum it all up good is the name we give to people who do things that we think we like.

Evil is the name we give to people who do the things that we don’t like.

This is of course based solely on our particular point of view.

different for each of us. There are some things we deam wrong as a group because of the culture we are in.

Some things are deamed wrong by nearly all cultures and therefore must be considered as definately wrong.

For you personaly you have to be the one to deside for you what is right and what is not.

No there is not. Right & wrong are always subjective and really mean "In my opinion _______ is right or wrong". People always drop the "In my opinion" in order to give their view point force.

You could say right and wrong are leverage words that we use to try to move someone to our p.o.v. Someone might soon say "It is wrong for Philosopher Knight to say that there is no right and wrong. Well they are just tying to leverage to their view point. If they were honest they would say instead, "In my opinion Philosopher Knight is wrong to say there is no right in wrong."

But don't distress, there is something to take the place of right and wrong... words that are solid and honest and don't try to seductively move people but tell the truth....
