I am considering a move to Mesa.Can anyone tell me if this is a safe,smart move? Any in formation is appreciated.

What part of Mesa? The city of Mesa is a good 20 square miles at this point. Every city in Arizona has its good and bad parts. I've never had any issues in Mesa but I hear of lots of people that the older areas are bad for crime and increasingly violent. There are several newer retirement communities though in the East Mesa area that are nice, one I can think of off hand is on Ellsworth North of Guadalupe. They call them active living communities, similar to Sun City, and no one under 55 can move there. You can view crime stats by are on the City Police websites.

I retired to Arizona and I love it. The crime is no worse in Mesa than any other city . Come out and check for yourself, but come in the summer when it is very hot. If you don't like heat you will not like it here.

Hey, Stargazer...well, we certainly get lots of clear nights for viewing the stars, though you would have to get out of Mesa to really appreciate it.
That ashkicker guy is really annoying, but you probably figured out that he's not worth listening to. As someone else said, it is hot...I think that would be the major consideration. Otherwise, heh, it's a city like any other.

I do not know now. I went there a few years ago and looked around for a while thinking of moving there. It was good then and probably is now. Not to expensive and nice weather for us oldies.
I finally retired and went to SE Asia and am still here. Live very well an little money.

No bad move arizona crime is way bad you think it is bad in La shiiiiiit PHx is real suckie
don't move into Maya Linda appartment if you do..That is on 19th and northern it is a sesspool
and the slumlords wont fix anything.and it is full of crack heads and rats
