The farthest we can see away from earth is 13.7 billion light years because that is the age of the universe...We dont even really know whats out there now, if we look out that far all we see is the universe in its first days of existance. The most distant objects however would probably be quasars, ranging from 1-13 billion light years away however with enough luminosity to be clearly seen from earth.

As you answered my question with a load of inconsequential rubbish, it is fitting that I should choose your dazzling little astronomical number in which to reply. Making a personal attack on me - ie an ad hominem 'argument' - renders your contribution intellectually void. Although it says a lot for your state of mind sweetcheeks....awwww. I am not going to challenge your claims, because I am not that insecure - think what you like duckie. I am sorry you felt so upset by my question that you had to resort to such weary stereotyping - it did make me giggle...CND and Greenpeace!!!! Bra-burning was the funniest of all. Do you know how much the damn things cost? AAAnyway babycake, I hope you're having a nicer time of it this evening. If there's ever any concern about your sexuality that you'd like to have a chat about, please email me - only too happy dear, only too happy. xxxxxxxxx

This information goes out of date fairly regularly. I had a hunt around and Googled for "most distant 2006" and the best I could come up with was

It's about 12.88 billion light years away.
