ok i think first you should go to your teacher for some help ok? not to sound condescending and you may not be able to but yes just should mention that.... but

1) ok you know in a coordinate the first number is x and the second is y? .... (x,y) so substitute into the equation each set of coordinates until you find the set that equals 4
so... for (0,2) it would be 0 + (2x2) = 4 as y is 2 and the equation is 2y. It does equal 4 so the ordered pair (0,2) is a solution. If you work through (4,0) and (-8,6) will also be solutions.

2) There are unlimited possibilities for this. (2,20) could work or (24897917489, 124489587455) could work. As long as five times the first coordinate (x) plus 10 is equal to the second coordinate

3) I think youve got the question wrong, that doesnt make sense

4) You remember first point is x, second point is y. The x-axis is the horizontal axis on the graph and the y-axis is the vertical axis on the graph. This point will be in the bottom "quarter" of the graph if that helps

5) Ask your teacher or someone, this takes too long for me to explain here sorry... but the line will go through 1 on the y-axis and for every 1 across it goes it will go two down, so the graph will slant like this \

For number 1, you need to substitute the first in each pair for x and the second for y, and see which of the pairs make a true mathematical statement.

For number 2, the easiest thing to do is pick some x's and find the y's that go with them. In this case since y=5x+10 you have multiply your chosen x by 5, then add 10 to get the y.

Question 3 doesn't make sense.

Question 4: you need to draw co-ordinate axes with negative and positive numbers for x and y, then plot the co-ordinate.

Question 5: Start by working out which co-ordinates to plot: pick several values of x (eg 0, 1, 2, 3, 4) and for each work out the y that goes with it. Since it's y=-2x+1, multiply each by -2, then add 1 to the answer. Then draw yourself some axes, plot the pairs as co-ordinates and join with a straight line. If it doesn't make a straight line you have made a mistake.



If you have been doing this topic in your maths class and you can't answer these questions by yourself, then you need to pay more attention in lessons!! This is extremely basic stuff.

If you haven't been taught how to do it, then your teacher should not be setting you this stuff as homework! Go and speak to them: maybe you missed the class. But it sounds like something is missing somewhere...
