i do not want to buy the online game of dungeons and dragons, what i do want to do however is get into an online chat room or something like that to play dungeons and dragons with other people. does anyone know how to get into anything like this?

Yahoo has several online chat rooms related to D & D, Wizards of the Coast's website also has similar rooms. You can also find information on local players and groups in your area.
Find a local game store that sells comic books and D & D supplies, they will be a likely venue for D & D as well as know of groups in the area. There is a possibility that the local hobby shop may know of groups, if they sell miniatures for games.
Most D & D is not played online, but rather in personal groups or friendly groups that get together weekly. You may find such groups at the nearby community college or university as well.
You might also check out the local SCA (Society for Creative Anachronisms) group or other renaissance reenactment group, as they are often linked or know where to find D & D fans.

Try a D&D based game called Neverwinter Nights. Thousands of people there to chat with, and game is very cheap these days and has all kinds of extra content in the Diamond version. There is no fee to play on line either, I refuse to pay good money for a game and then be forced to dump money in to it every month just to play. MMORPG's in my opinoin suck!

there are so many online game, and everybody has his own opinion. It's all depends yourself, if you are intested in it, you will find it is the best. nowadays, most people play world of warcraft, maybe it is intresting. i am not sure for i'm not playing it.you can visit the website bellow. there are many games in it.
