What kind of computer did you buy? it might be the computer it self not the OS, think about it first, changing the OS won't do any difference

Yes you can, but you have to format your hard drive in order to install Windows XP on the laptop.

Just use your Windows XP CD and register your copy of XP and you're done.

Now your laptop has XP instead of Vista.

Probably not. Depending where you bought it you might be able to take it back and request a refund. If you are in the USA - there are some retailers with decent return policies. Where are you?
