If you are not breast feeding and this has not happened before than it should come soon if it doesnt check with your doctor.
As a aside to other answers I breast fed all my children, my 2 boys were 2 yrs difference and I never had a period for almost 4 yrs. I was not however unhealthy or at risk or had anyhting wrong it was for me normal it seems. But as far as I was aware it was something that is usually associated with breastfeeding. Something to do with hormone levels in the body still being elevated....

I gave birth on 5 August and my periods returned on 12 January. There is no specific time for this. They can come in early or late. The maximum time will be 9 months. If you are not pregnant again then don't worry at all.
Take care.

hi i had my daughter in april, and my period has only just returned 2 months ago, doctor says it is normal.Every woman and her hormone levels are very unique, so it’s difficult to say when a period will recommence after childbirth. Some women find their period will return the very next month following birth and at the other end of the scale, some women wont have menstruated until well after twelve months. I found it to be even longer than this!

Each time you have a child nothing is going to b exactly right. But I know that Lochia can last for 6wks after that it can take a while to get regulated again. My daughter is almost 1 and my periods are not regular yet. And irregularity can be what you have your body is confused and still trying to figure things out if u r that worried ask your ob/gyn
